Our practice is located in Dracut, an easy drive from Lowell, Chelmsford, Andover, Tyngsboro and Southern New Hampshire. This is a small practice, and you will be seen by the same doctor for most of your visits.
Dr. Arlene Curran works in the office Monday and Tuesday, Dr. Alena Ashenberg on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and most Saturdays.
We take care of any after hour emergencies during the week. On weekends and Holidays, we collaborate with a group of local Pediatricians to answer any emergency calls.
As a result, we get to know our patients and their parents very well, stay in close contact when they get sick and remain in touch until they are well again. Knowing you can speak with your child’s doctor anytime for an emergency, decreases the stress of dealing with a child’s illness, and improves the safety and the quality of care.
The office is open 6 days a week, with morning appointments on Saturdays. We have a large waiting room and 5 exam rooms. Separate part of the office is used for sick children to minimize infection transmission.
We admit patients locally to Lowell General Hospital and use Boston Children’s Hospital for more complicated problems.
Did you know that by coming to our practice and having me as your child’s pediatrician, your child is also able to use Boston Children’s Hospital for specialty care and for emergencies. We are unique in that regard in this area and with me as your child’s pediatrician, there are no restrictions or “gate keepers” to prevent you from using this wonderful hospital.
If you want personal, friendly care, from experienced pediatricians, who are associated with Boston Children’s Hospital, along with a friendly office staff, who will know you and your child by name, come and see us.
If you have an emergency when the office is closed you can reach the doctor on by calling the office number and following the prompts. The call back is prompt and will assist you in deciding the best way to handle the problem. This ensures good continuity of care and makes sure your child is seen at a good facility if needed. Walk-in centers are not staffed with Pediatricians, so for better care, please call us first.
We have an e-mail system called MyChart, that you can use to send messages, and access your medical record. The messages are usually addressed same day. Do not use the MyChart system for any urgent matters use the phone for that.
